After a 14 month layoff Tara LaRosa improved her record to 16-1 after defeating Alexis Davis on Friday, January 24th at the Tropicana Resort and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. The fight was stopped at 4 minutes, 23 seconds of the third and final round. LaRosa is considered the top-ranked 135-pound female fighter in the world. The exciting three round bout saw LaRosa dropping Davis in the first round with a hook but Davis recovering to finish the round. At the end of the second round Davis had LaRosa in an effective triangle choke but the bell saved LaRosa from what could have been a disappointing and unexpected loss. The fight was called in the third after the doctor deemed a cut too severe for Davis to continue. Larosa, being, a New Jersey enjoyed the full support of the boisterous crowd throughout the fight
