A final decision on whether women's boxing will be allowed in the 2012 London Olympic Games will be made in August.
The International Olympic Committee has said in a statement that they will "make a recommendation to executive board" who will make their decision at an August 13 meeting in Berlin.
Previously in a 2005 bid to get women's boxing in to the Beijing Olympics, the sport was rejected because the IOC decided it was not a global sport.
Boxing is the last sport out of all 26 summer Olympics sports federations in London who are organizing competitions to not allow female participants.
