With unwavering support from International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge, International Amateur Boxing Association’s President Ching-Kuo Wu recently stated that he strongly believes that we will see women’s boxing at the London Summer games in 2012. According to Wu the AIBA is working very closely with the IOC to formulate a strategy related to the inclusion of women's boxing in the Olympics. Last week Rogge told The Irish Times that he thought the timing and conditions were right to add women's boxing to the Olympics. He went on to say that the sport has come a long way since the initial application was submitted four years ago. The IOC should vote in October on the proposal.
