Letter From Jesica Bednark's Father

Written by Staff
An entry from her journal by her father.....

People in different countries around the world have shared our prayer requests with people we have never met (Germany, Latvia, Ukraine, Phillipines, India, Kenya, United States,, Mexico, etc.) These people (entire churches, prayer groups, bible studies, and individuals) are praying for Jessica and asking how she is doing!

So, just as you asked them to pray, would you please pass on how she continues to do and tell them the Bednarks say, "Thank you for praying for our situation." "We are grateful to you for standing with us". "Our confidence is in a God that is in total control." " We worship Him for who He is, not based on circumstances."

Jessica - Update on Fever

Jessica continues to have a fever that varies between 99.2 degrees Fahrenheit to 100.2 degrees Fahrenheit.

We are thankful that all tests for infections are coming back negative and the latest brain scan did not show anything that would suggest infection. Yet, an infection is still a very real concern and there have been no explanations for the above normal temperature. An above normal temperature could be caused by the anti seizure medication or even a pain medication. So, on Tuesday they changed to a different anti seizure medication.

God has been gracious in giving good overall progress. We have much to be thankful for. Three and ½ weeks ago, we did not know if He would give Jessica life or not. She has made great progress recovering from surgeries, has had over one week of in-patient therapy, and now we are looking forward to moving to a turn on the road to recovery; an out-patient therapy program. The only thing preventing this is the fever.

I continually marvel at how God brings to mind written instructions that tell us how to stand in the exact situation we face. The following words of Jesus, from the book of Mathew, give us encouragement for the present situation where we could be tempted to worry. Instead, He tells us how greatly He cares for our physical needs and therefore be confident in His continued care rather than worry. “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26“Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? 27“And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? 28“And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, 29yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 30“But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! 31“Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ 32“For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

34“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Also, Philippians 4:6-7 “Don’t worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

So, please continue to PRAY: Lord, You say to seek you first you, your purposes, your ways, and you will take care of all the things that concern us. Since you care for the birds and flowers, how we ought to see that we are not to worry about your care for us and things that concern us. Please help Jessica, Jay, and the Bednark’s to look to you first; not to their own ways, their own strength, and their own ability. Thank you that you never lie. If you say something, you always keep your word. What you say you will do. So, may we be people that put you first above all else, seek you first, and turn to you to take care of all that concerns us this day; even this fever.

We ask you to remove the fever from Jessica. We are grateful that it is lower. Thank you for being in full control.

Sincerely Grateful for You Care, Concern, and Prayers,

John and Deb Bednark
