It seems that the UFC 106 card is just not meant to be.  From the get go there have been problems left and right with trying to get this card finalized. Today once again proved that.  Karo Parisyan has pulled out of the fight against Dustin Hazelett the day before the weigh ins for reasons that still are not clear. One rumor that has been swirling around is that Parisyan is addicted to painkillers and was not going to risk testing positive again. Dana White let everyone know how he felt via his Twitter page today: "Karo Parisyan has [expletive] over the UFC, the fans and his opponent again!!! He will not be fighting Saturday or ever again in the UFC!! ".  He continued to go on and say "Pulled out of the fight the day before weigh ins again with a laundry list of excuses!!! Let the press ask karo why! Let him explain."  Clearly the UFC president is done with Parisyan and all his antics.  It does seem that history is repeating itself, after Parisyan pulled out of UFC 88 against Yoshiyuki Yoshida right before weigh ins, claiming his back had been hurting him while training.  And to make matters worse, he was suppose to be coming off of suspension he received after testing positive for three different painkillers back at UFC 94.

Parisyan claims otherwise, unable to pay fines

Following his suspension for painkillers without a prescription, Parisyan was suspended and ordered to pay a fine to the Nevada State Athletic Commission.  "There's a lot of problems going on. They won't re-license me unless I (expletive) pay them," Parisyan told MMAWeekly.com. "I had to pay the $32,000 fine in order to fight. I never paid because I never had the money. I don't know if I'll be able to come back."  Keith Kizer, the Executive Director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission has said that Parisyan's claim is untrue.  Kizer told ESPN Radio that he has spoke to Parisyan on Monday and that they had come to an agreement of taking half of the $32,000 fine out of his purse.  Parisyan had agreed to that and was therefore eligible to be licensed.

Meanwhile, there is no word on whether or not there is a replacement opponent for Dustin Hazelett but Dana White made it clear that Hazelett will be paid.  "Dustin will be paid his full purse to show and win. Its not his fault." White tweeted.  In an interview with Fanhouse.com regarding the issue, Hazelett says he was looking forward to fighting Saturday, but was not angry about the outcome. He said "I believe in God's plan and know everything happens for a reason."  Hazelett was thankful for White's generosity and looks forward to fighting in the near future.  UFC 106 is live from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas this Saturday with the main event of the evening being Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin.  Check back for updates on this story and for the latest in MMA news.
