The "Nightmare" is looking to make his way back to the welterweight division. Diego Sanchez, an Albuquerque native, announced via his Twitter account that he is working his way back to 170. "Yes I am going back to welterweight I'm loving my new diet. I want Kos or Fitch but any top guy will do just want to give u fans the best." After his loss to BJ Penn at UFC 107, in which Penn had shown dominance throughout the fight, Sanchez suffered a nasty cut above his left eyebrow in round five that ultimately ended the fight. The loss seems to have not hampered Diego's quest for championship glory. He has voiced that he would like to take on both Josh Koscheck and Jon Fitch, his only two losses he obtained when he was previously at 170. Sanchez has made mention also of a match up with Nate Diaz, who in recent days has talked about making the move to welterweight. "I hear your going up too 170 too I would love to welcome you to welterweight lets make it happen," Sanchez posted via Twitter to Diaz. The move from 155 to 170 may help Sanchez to dominate and showcase his skills. He had previously mention having trouble cutting down to 155 and usually looked very tired and blamed his cardio issues on the major cut in weight. The former KOTC welterweight champ has a belt in the UFC in his sights and will fight whoever is in his way to achieve it. 2010 could prove to be the year of the "Nightmare" if Diego Sanchez plays his cards right. If he can pace himself and improve his cardio for the heavier weight, he could easily get a shot at the title before the year is up.
